第一次面谈的时候投资者想听到些什么
What investors want to hear in the first meeting
我不喜欢感觉到 对方好像是在向我推销什么
I don’t like to feel…like I’m being pitched.
我希望创业者能特别真诚
I want the entrepreneur to be really authentic.
那么对于绝大多数创业者来说 就意味着
And for the vast majority of much entrepreneurs, that means
他们要非常自豪地陈述他们创造了些什么
describing what they’ve built…with a lot of pride.
鉴于我的背景 我非常重视产品
And given my background I focus a lot on product.
我希望能够听到创业者去谈他到底创造出来了什么
I’d like to hear entrepreneurs talk about what they’ve actually built.
以及我更关注的是产品而不希望你只是想拉我做投资
And I wanna talk about product versus feeling like I am being pitched.
确切地说 就是我希望能看到你的成果而不是一直在说套话
Specifically I wish more time was spent on a demo than running through a deck.
有一件事让我很受不了 那就是
One thing that drives me crazy is when
在现场会谈的时候 合伙人会谈的时候情况更严重
in an in-person meeting or even worse in a partner meeting,
那就是创业者会花好长时间去讲
an entrepreneur will spend a lot of time talking through
问题呀或者是市场规模呀
the problem or the market size.
然后…
And…
你知道 嗯 提一提这方面的事其实也挺好
you know, well, it’s good to touch upon those things,
不过你要是在和风投面对面会谈
if you are in a face-to-face meeting with a VC,
大部分情况下 对方心里都很清楚问题所在
odds are they understand that there’s a problem.
所以会谈的重点应该更多放在你的解决方案上
And the meeting should be more focused on your solution,
也就是你的产品
i.e. your product,
这也就是为什么在面谈的时候
which is why I would much rather see demos than decks
我更想看样品而不是套路
for the in-person meetings.
