there’s always been this contest of
who’s got the biggest, the fastest,or the most expensive item.

In this ALUX.com original video,
we’re ranking the top 10most expensive yachts in the world.
Let’s get started.
Valued at 300 million dollars.
Pelorus, once belonged to a Roman Abramovich,
the Russian billionaire who owns Chelsea FC.
No need to mention that this was his cheaper yacht.
We’re big fans of Roman at Alux,
especially since we also have him as a part ofour top 10 most expensive private jets video.
Let’s get back to the yacht.
He lost it in the divorce,
and Pelorus was sold by his ex-wifeto David Geffen five years ago.
He is an American media tycoon, worth 6.7 billion dollars.
After several years owning it,
Geffen decided to sell it toSheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
who is the current owner.
The prices exchanged betweenthese parties were undisclosed.
But we estimated the yacht’s worthto be around 300 million.
Terence Disdale designed Pelorus’ entire interiors,
including the luxury suites for up to 20 guests.
And he created a beach house atmosphereusing natural materials.
The whole 377 foot yacht itself was built by Lürssen,
and retouched by Blohm+Voss.
Remember when Chelsea FCgot their first Premier League title
after as long as anyone could remember,
Roman gave the yacht to the top playersfor two full weeks to do whatever.
Very nice of him, right?
9 Al Said号
9. Al Said
Valued at 300 million dollars.
This is one of the world’slongest yachts measuring 508 feet.
It’s owned by Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman.
Named after the Sultan’s family name,
Al Said was custom-designedand built back in 2008 by Lürssen.
It is one of the heaviest yachts in the world,
and also the most powerful one with theequivalent of 22,000 horsepower propulsion.
It can accommodate up to 70 people on board,
apart from the 154 crew members
who are there to insure one ofthe most luxurious cruise experiences.
And for easy access, the yacht isequipped with a helipad on the back.
One of the biggest featuresin this yacht is the concert hall.
The Sultan is indeed a big fan of classical music.
In terms of his wealth, the Sultan hasan estimated net worth of 1.1 billion dollars.
Depending on how his wealth fluctuates,he is one of the richest Royals in the world.
Valued at 320 million dollars.
This yacht is owned by Abdullah Al Futtaim,
a conglomerate from one of our favorite citiesin the world, Dubai United Arab Emirates.
So, next time you visit one of theworld’s luxurious beaches in Dubai,
keep an eye on the horizon to spot this beauty.
It will stand out from the rest.
This 361 foot yacht was originallybuilt for Boris Berezovsky by Lürssen.
It took two important designers to design,
Tim Heywood and Glenn Pushelberg.
It is actually the brothership of Pelorus,
the yacht we’ve seen at No.10.
It was named Darius.
不幸的是 贝瑞佐夫斯基遇到了一些财务问题 游艇的建造也被延误了
Unfortunately, Berezovsky was having somefinancial issues and the construction was delayed.
When he realized he was not interested inbuying the ship anymore, it hit the market.
there isn’t a shortage of people willing topay hundreds of millions of dollars for a yacht.
That’s when Al Futtaim picked it upfor a cool 320 million dollars.
Before you shake your head at the decision,he’s worth 10 times that amount.
So, spending 10 percent of your fortune to ownone of the most expensive luxury yachts in the world
is not that big of a deal.
What can you afford with 10 percent of your net worth?
Radiant has 8 suites for 16 elite guests.
Onboard to cater to their needs are 40 crew members
who get to stay in their own 20 cabins.
7. Superyacht A
Valued at 323 million dollars.
This is one of the most interesting yachts on this list.
Just look at this beauty.
This 390 foot yacht was builtback in 2008 by Blohm+Voss
for a Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko.
The man is worth a little under 12 billion dollars.
But wait, he didn’t stop there.
He actually commissioned another one just like it,
only the sailing version that will be ready this year.
Philippe Starck and Martin Francisdesigned this simple yet sophisticated yacht.
游艇内部极富现代化 设计巧妙 空间优雅
The interior is modern and masterfullydesigned with elegant use of space.
It features wood furnishingswith numerous other details.
The superyacht includes 3 swimmingpools and 2 smaller limo boats.
It is also fully equipped with the latesttechnologies and entertainment systems.
It just offers unparalleled comfort,
hosting up to 14 people in 6 guest suites.
For himself, he built inside a master bedroom suite
complete with a living roomand whatever else he might need.
Valued at 330 million dollars.
Ever wondered who collects profitfrom all of the vodka you’ve been drinking?
The answer is the former ownerof this exclusive yacht, Yuri Scheffler.
While most yachts we have seen on this listwere custom-built by German shipyards,
this one was built for the Russian tycoonby an Italian shipyard, Fincantieri.
He had to pay 330 million for this beauty 4 years ago.
Because he’s busy travelingaround the world for business,
or maybe he’s just a good friend.
He lent it to Bill Gates for 5 million dollars a week.
Bill got to enjoy the yacht backon his summer holiday in 2014.
One year later, Scheffler finallysold it to Mohammed bin Salman,
the second deputy Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia,
who used the country’s publicinvestment money to purchase it.
So what makes Serene so special?
This 439 foot yacht has somecommon luxury yacht features,
包括12间船舱 潜水艇 游泳池以及两个直升机停机坪
among them are 12 cabins, submarine, swimming pool and two helipads.
Valued at 400 million dollars.
With its 531 foot length,
Dubai is the third largest yacht in the world.
And with its estimated400-million-dollar building cost,
it’s the fifth most expensive one.
Dubai was built by Blohm+Voss
for the Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates,Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
He is also the ruler of the Emirates of Dubai.
Thus it was named Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed was once the richest royal in the world,
but his net worth is currently down to 6 billion.
Well, he is still a billionaire anyway.
Dubai was originally built as a joint projectbetween Blohm+Voss and Lürssen.
And it was supposed to be deliveredto Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei.
Its name was Panhandle and Golden Star.
Long story short, the hull was acquired byPlatinum Yachts for Sheikh Mohammed instead.
Platinum Yachts designed its luxurious interior,
which features intricately detailedhandmade mosaics and fine fabrics.
And this large vessel can host up to 115 people.
Valued at 520 million dollars.
We’re finally over the half a billion mark.
Topaz is another masterpiece from Lürssen.
Two designers took on this 482 foot yacht.
Tim Heywood designed the exterior andTerence Disdale designed the luxury interior.
Named Topaz, it was owned byMansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He is the current Deputy Prime Ministerof the United Arab Emirates.
I am sensing a common hobbybetween these Emirates Royals.
Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also known as Sheikh Mansour,
was once the owner of Manchester City 4 years ago.
It was one of the turning pointsof the club’s development.
这艘大型游艇有7个甲板极可意浴缸 电影院 健身房
This large yacht has seven decks,Jacuzzi, movie theater, gym,
and a large conference room where the Sheikhcan hold an important luxury meeting.
In case of urgency, two helipadsare ready to take him faster to land.
Valued at 592 million dollars.
It’s no longer a secret that billionaireskeep finding ways to hide their money.
We’ve covered some of their favorite spots in the past.
Click the top right corner to open that video.
They are not hiding it from thieves but from taxes,
such as luxury property tax.
That’s why billionaires who ownluxury yachts try to avoid this tax
by listing them for charter in Europe.
However, they are just hardly available.
Not surprising, Azzam is also listed for charter.
This 590 foot yacht was built forthe president of United Arab Emirates,
Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan by Lürssen.
Our team at ALUX.com places hisnet worth at around 23 billion dollars.
So he’s got enough to spare on what is nowthe largest private motor yacht in the world.
Azzam’s exterior was designed by NautaYachts,
while the interior was by Christophe Leoni.
The second richest royal was definitely impressedby its sophisticated yet timeless interior.
Built for one of the most important world leaders,
it should come as no surprise that Azzamis equipped with missile defense system.
And in case of emergency, the Sheikhcan lock himself in a luxury suite.
Since it is bulletproof and designedto keep him alive no matter the cost.
1.5 billion dollars.
Eclipse is actually smaller than Azzam.
Something that Roman Abramovich was quite pleased about when Azzam was commissioned,
but at least he won with the price tag.
With 533 feet of length,
it is the second largest private yacht in the world.
But how come it is almost three timesmore expensive than its successor?
When it was first built in 2009,
it only took Blohm+Vossaround 500 million dollars to finish
along with Terence Disdale, special exterior and interior design.
But the owner, Roman Abramovich, addedmore and more features throughout the years.
Today, after several reports,
this yacht is estimated to wortharound a staggering 1.5 billion dollars.
Apart from also being heavilyweaponized in case of emergencies,
this luxury yacht even has an anti-paparazzi laser.
This means if you try tosnap a picture of the luxury boat,
a laser from aboard the ship beams your objective, making the picture unusable.
He built this master suite with a bulletproof glass,
as well as the yacht’s missiledefense system and intruder detection.
This luxury yacht is also listed for charter,
but guess what, it’s also hardly available.
1. History Supreme.
Worth 4.5 billion dollars.
You would have thought thatthe world’s most expensive yacht
is at least one of the biggest ones out there.
But the history supreme is only 100 feet long.
So what makes this yacht worth 4.5 billionand cost more than any other ever built?
There are only two words in a nameto answer that question.
If you’ve ever been to our website for some time,
that name will definitely ring a bell.
He’s the designer of the mostexpensive things in the world.
The strategy is simple.
Take a luxury item or product and stuff as much gold,
platinum and diamonds on it as possible.
He’s responsible for the most expensive iPhone,
iPad and plenty of other things.
If you click the top right corner, you can find out more.
So how come this luxury yacht is worth so much?
First of all, the History Supreme’s exterior is
plated by 100,000 kilograms of gold and platinum.
Second of all, its interior features meteorite rock wall,
and a statue made of T-Rex bones.
Basically everything on it, including the exterior,
is made out of the most expensivemetals and gems you can find.
This was actually one of thestories we’ve covered at the beginning
when we were just launchingour website several years ago,
and when we even found out that the project was
commissioned by a Malaysianbusinessman named Robert Kuok.
No disrespect to him, but consideringhe’s only worth around 10 billion dollars,
we went even deeper and reached out to now friend of the website Stuart Hughes.
And we uncovered thatthe entire project never took off.
There were multiple businessmen considering fundingan even more expensive yacht than Roman’s Eclipse,
and Stuart had drawn plans on how toput together the History Supreme project.
Until someone steps up and finances the yachtmade out of gold and platinum that History Supreme is.
The current most expensive yacht in the worldis Roman Abramovich’s Eclipse.
So we wanted to ask you, Aluxers.
What do you believe is the right percentage of yournet worth that you should spend on a luxury yacht?
Let us know in the comments.
We want to include a special mention here at the end.
There is another incrediblyexpensive yacht in the world right now.
名为Triple Deuce 将于2018年建造完成
It’s called the Triple Deuceand it’s set to be finalized in 2018.
This will be the longest yacht ever built.
222 meters or 728 feet long.
That’s longer than a classic cruise ship.
The entire thing costs a littleover 1 billion dollars to build.
But if the new owner is like Mr. Abramovich,it might be a serious contender to the title.
