At the center of bringing any dream into fruition is self-discipline

they want to get themselves to read more each day

or are they want to stop some behaviors

They want to stop eating this food. They want to stop

I always tell people stop checking your phone in the first hour of the day

If you win the first hour of the day you win the day

当我想要改变或超越或者做出真正积极的改变
When I want to transform or transcend or make a real positive change
我会看看我们自己其它所有方面
I’m looking all the other areas of ourselves
比方说我会环顾周围的环境
So I’m looking at for example at environment:
人们是否会为了进步而创造环境
are people setting up their environment to win?
个人行为的变化不会带来最终的改变
And you know so the change doesn’t just happen at this level of behavior

But what you have to change is the environment

So for example if you want to stop eating a certain food

So you change the environment.

In life, we must all suffer one of two pains

The pain of discipline or the pain of regret
做出明智的选择
I’m asking you: choose wisely!
生活中 不论你正在为什么而努力
So whatever it is that you’re trying to achieve in life
重要的是完成
the critical component is getting things done
并且系统地完成
and getting things done in a systematic way
养成与系统地达成目标有关的品格
Building the character, that’s associated with getting things done
这需要你变得自律
in this systematic way requires that you become disciplined
如果我们过着懒散不自律的生活
If we live a lazy undisciplined life
我们会屈服于我们的感官
and we just give in to our feelings

and we act on these emotional impulses

We’re going to make very poor choices that we regret later on.
