Well hey there I’m Emma from mmmEnglish!
大家好 我是来自《艾玛英语》的艾玛
Today I’ve got another short and snappy lesson for you.
今天 将给大家带来一堂简洁精炼的小课
We’re going to go over ten common collocations
我们要来学习十个和动词“take”有关的
with the verb,’take’.
常见的词语搭配
So really simply, collocations are words that are often
简单地说 词语搭配就是那些
used together in everyday language.
在日常英语中一起搭配使用的词组
So if you’re learning English as a second language, then
所以 如果英语是你的第二语言
learning collocations is a really useful way to practise
那么 对于如何正确组合使用英文单词
using English words together correctly.
学习词语搭配将会是非常有用的方法
So for example, in English we use the verb’take’ with ‘photo’,
比如 在英语里 我们用“take”来搭配“photo”
right? We take photos.
对吗?拍照
We don’t say”Do a photo” or”Make a photo” or
我们不会用“do” “make”
“Click a photo”
或者“click”来搭配“photo”
So by learning words in groups, together with the words
所以 通过学习习惯上搭配使用的一组词语
that they are often used with, well,
也就是词组
you’re going to be taking a huge step towards
你在说英语时
sounding more fluent and more natural
能够很大程度上
when you use English.
提高流利度和地道性
Today we’re going to focus on the verb,’take’.
今天我们的主角将是动词“take”
Now that is a super common English verb, right?
英语中 这是一个特别常见的动词 不是吗?
But it means that it’s also really noticeable
不过 这也意味着 在英语中
if you start using it a little weirdly in English sentences.
一旦你使用不当的话很容易被发现
So let’s dive in!
那就赶快开始吧
Before we get started, a super quick reminder to
开始之前 有个温馨小贴士

那么首先 我要强调
to highlight some nouns which are often
几个经常和动词“take”
used with the verb’take’.
搭配使用的名词
We take advice. We take a break.
We take an interest. We take a look,
a class, a test.
These are really common nouns that the verb
这些都是经常和动词“take”
‘take’ is used with.
一起出现的名词
Now when you take someone’s advice,
如果说 你采用了某人的建议
you listen to them.
意思就是你听从了他们的建议
You follow their recommendations, you do
你接受了他们的建议
what they say that you should do.
你照着他们所说的去做
Don’t take her advice about money, she has no idea.
别听她的 她对理财根本一窍不通
Now if you’re giving advice to someone
如果你要给别人建议
and you want them to know that you’ve got
你想让他们知道你对这方面很有经验
the experience on this issue and you know what you’re talking about,
你非常清楚他们在谈论什么
you can say
你可以这么说
“Take it from me”
Take it from me, I know what I’m talking about.
意思是 听我的 我对这些还是很有研究的
Now here in this sentence,’it’ is actually in place of’advice’.
在这个句子里 “it”指代的是“advice”
You’re saying take advice from me.
也就是 听听我的建议吧
Take my advice because I have the experience.
因为我有经验 所以听我的吧
When you take an interest in something, well
如果你对某物“take an interest”
you’re interested in it, right?
就是你对它感兴趣 对吧?
My fiance Shah is an excellent cook, lucky me,
我未婚夫Shah厨艺很棒 羡慕吧
but it’s his hobby. He loves to cook.
不过这是他的爱好 他喜欢做饭
He started to take an interest in cooking
还是个小男孩的时候
when he was a young boy.
他就开始对厨艺感兴趣了
His grandmother taught him how to cook so he’s
他的厨艺师从他的祖母
always been in the kitchen with his nenek cooking.
祖母做饭时 他就在一旁看着
What did you take an interest in when you were younger
你小时候对什么感兴趣呢
Let me know in the comments, I’m curious.
在评论区告诉我吧 我很好奇呦
Things take time.
People are always telling you that when you’re impatient about something, aren’t they?
在你很不耐烦的时候 你常常能听到这句话 对吗?
Actually, the verb’take’ comes up quite a bit when we’re talking about time.
事实上 动词“take”经常和时间一起出现
It took some time to find the dog after it escaped from the yard.
找回从你院子里跑出去的狗要花点儿时间
Becoming fluent in English takes time.
想把英语说得流利也要花些时间
But if you practise consistently, you can definitely do it! Also,
当然如果你经常练习 一定可以做到的
we take time off, when we go on holiday
“take time off” 就是抽空去度假
or we stop working for a while.
或者工作累了歇一会
Did you take any time off over the summer?
暑假期间你有没有休息下呢?
Where did you go?
去哪里玩了呀?
Gosh I’m waiting for summer down here in Australia.
在澳大利亚的我早就期待着暑假了
We also take a break, alright?
我们也会说“take a break” 对吧?
We put our feet up, we relax, we stop working, right?
抬起脚 放轻松 不去想工作
Take a break.
We also take classes.
我们还说“take classes”
You know that I’ve been taking Spanish classes
你知道的 我在Lingoda学了
with Lingoda for three months, right?
三个月的西班牙语 是吧?
With Lingoda, you can take your time or you can take
在Lingoda 你可以自己安排时间
classes daily and complete the Language Marathon,
日常学习线上课程 或者参加最近刚要
which is about to start by the way.
开启的项目 语言马拉松
I’ve left a link in the description of this video.
我在视频简述留了一个链接
I think that you should take a look.
推荐你去看看哦
Speaking of take a look,
说到“take a look”
we use this expression when we look at something or someone
当看某样东西或某个人时 我们会用到这种表达
but especially in a really quick or an informal way.
但主要还是用于一瞥或非正式的方式
Can you take a look at this email I wrote?
你能帮用我看看我写的这个邮件吗?
Do you think it’s clear?
这样表达清晰吗?
I need to take a look at the map
在赶路之前
before we go any further.
我需要看看地图
I don’t want to get us lost.
我可不想迷路
Alight let’s talk about these really great expressions:
好的 再来看看几个超地道的表达:
to take charge, to take control of something, alright?
“take charge” “take control”
When someone takes charge or they take control
我们通常用来形容一个人
they’re able to manage something, usually a situation
能够处理好某些事物
or a project or something like that.
通常是某种情况或一个项目等
Sometimes even a group of people like a class or a team.
有时候甚至指一群人 比如一个班级或一支队伍
And you’ll also hear”take the lead” used in a similar way.
你或许也听说过相似的用法“take the lead”
These are all really great expressions to talk about leadership.
这些都是关于领导力很地道的表达
As the teacher, he needs to take control of the class.
作为老师 他必须管理好班级
Can you take charge of the money?
你会理财吗?
I don’t trust myself to look after it.
我反正是不放心自己管钱的
My boss just asked me to
老板刚任命我为
take the lead on our next project.
下一个项目的总负责人
I’m really excited about it. Hey,
我真是太激动了
take it easy. Relax, okay?
喂 冷静一下 放轻松 好吗?
Don’t push yourself too hard.
别太难为自己
Don’t worry. Don’t stress too much.
别担心 不要给自己太大压力
You need to take it easy for a few days
手术完成之后
after your operation.
你需要好好休息几天
Take it easy.
这就是“take it easy”
But this expression can also be used to tell someone
不过这个短语也用于
who’s being quite aggressive to stop, to calm down.
劝某个暴躁的人冷静下来
Take it easy. Relax. Plus,
别激动 放轻松
you’ll also hear people using this word
还有 在一些非正式场合
or this expression really informally as a farewell.
也可以用它表示告别
They’ll say”See you later, take it easy!”
他们会说“再见啦 保重啊”
Alright so we went through quite a few expressions
这些就是今天学习的几个
today using’take’. Hopefully,
关于“take”的短语
you’d take away a few new ones
如果有些陌生的词组
to practise with.
希望你多加练习哦
Can you think of any other common expressions
你能想到英语中其它
in English using’take’?
关于“take”的表达吗?
