5 SOFA NOT SO GOOD
Less than a week after opening,
athletes were reminded of Rio 2016’s dangerous environmental pollution…
…when rumors began spreading about a kayaker
who capsized after striking a submerged sofa in Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.
Olympic organizers had promised to clean the waterways of dead bodies
and raw sewage before the games began…
…but the lagoon, which was covered with more than
33 tons of dead fish at one point in 2015,remains full of disease.
Water tests by the Associated Press in July of 2016
found viruses from human waste at 1.7M times acceptable levels…
…concentrations that nearly guarantee an infection
for anyone ingesting just 3 teaspoons of water.
Pathogens in the water include Adenoviruses,Norovirus,
轮状病毒 甲型肝炎 星状病毒 弧菌（一种S形霍乱菌）以及隐孢子虫
Rotavirus,Hepatitis a,A Astrovirus,Vibrio,and Cryptosporidium… …
…but the WHO and Olympic officials have flip-flopped
and are refusing to conduct their own testing after the AP results.
$1B has reportedly been spent to clean up Rio’s water, but with little result,
no one is contain where the money really went…
…and environmentalists patrolling for polluters
have reportedly been shot at by state-owned oil giant Petrobras.
4 RUSSIAN V.THE WORLD
Prior to the Rio 2016 Olympic opening ceremony,
Olympic officials announced a ban on 118 Russian athletes…
…cutting the Russian delegation by a third as punishment for
cheating in an alleged Russian state-run doping program.
Most significantly, all but 1 member of the Russian track and field team
was barred from taking part in the games…
…although the final ruling was less severe than
the rumored threat of keeping Russian out of Rio 2016 entirely.
Following up on tips from a whistle-blower,
the World Anti-Doping Agency found elaborate cover-ups by Russian intelligence…
…who allegedly worked to steal and replace postive samples
from Russian athletes through holes in a wall at a test facility.
Even so,the Russian government’s claim that the investigation
was politically motivated may have some kernel of truth.
2012年 Victor Conte 湾区实验室的创始人
In 2012,Victor Conte, founder of BALCO and
convicted supplier to high profile athletes, claimed 60%of Olympians were doping…
刚刚的2016年 奥委会震惊了 一个抓到的肯尼亚官员
…and already the 2016 Olympics have been rocked by a Kenyan
official caught claiming he could warn athletes of test for $13k.
In the face of heightened scrutiny,a number of athletes appear to be
turning to alternative treatments such as “cupping”…
3 DIRTY THREATS
Fearing the detonation of a “dirty” nuclear bomb,
the Internationa Atomic Energy Agency has been quietly deployed in Rio…
…lending the 2016 Summer Olympic games anti-terrorism expertise
and sophisticated radiation detection equipment.
Brazil’s anti-terror chief has stated that
there is a “credible threat” from ISIS to disrupt the event.
…and 12 Brazilian internationals were quietly arrested in July
plotting to carry out an amateur “ISIS-style attack.”
Unusually, jihadist began translating threats into Portuguese
as the start of the Rio 2016 Olympics drew closer…
…encouraging the use of prison and
weaponized drones to attact athletes at the Olympic village.
ISIS has even taken to Twitter and the messaging app
Telegram to remind its followers of the start of #Rio2016…
…along with reposting 17 “helpful tips” for traveling to Brazil
through Paraguay’s “porous border” and how to select targets.
A Brazil-based group calling itself “Ansaral-Khilafah Brazil”
(“Supporters of the Caliphate Brazil”) has reprtedly formed…
…although it is believed that authorities have yet
to infiltrate the group or its encrypted communications…
2 ZIKA WHO?
In February,2016,the World Health Organization declared
Zika virus a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern”…
…however, the group dismissed calls to cancel, postpone,
or move the 2016 Olympic games from Rio De Janeiro in Brazil.
In response,over 200 health experts,including
a former White House adviser, condemned the WHO in an open letter…
…fearing that the over 500,000 foreign tourists
expected to visit Brazi could spread the virus in a global epidemic.
Although early research quickly linked the virus to microcephaly in newborns,
recent studies have raised far graver concern…
…revealing that Zika can lurk in the body for months
interfering with the immune system and can also be sexually transmitted.
Worringly,a study from Imperial College London suggests
the only end to Zika’s spread is for everyone to become infected…
…as 80 percent of Zika infections will show No symptoms
and the infected are likely to carry the virus without treatment.
Some allege that the WHO has a serious conflict of intersest
with the Olympics via a secret “memorandum of understanding”…
…and many top athletes are taking extra precautions or are avoiding
the games, refusing to believe the WHO’s assessment.
1 STATE OF CALAMITY
In confidential interviews with former police,
Amnesty International discovered Rio was killing 2 people per day in 2015…
…and actively covering-up the extrajudicial murder
of “undesirables” to cleanse the city before the Olympics.
Security force abuses have also been alleged in the evition of
77,000 poor residents from favelas to make room for the games.
Neighborhood demolitions led to violent clashes between protestors
and police and the unrest has spilled over politically.
Brazilians are outraged that $12B has been spent on the Olympics
as funding for education and healthcare has been cut.
Leading up to the games,Rio was forced to declare that the state goverment
was bankrupt and in a “state of calamity”…
…and airport arrivals were greeted with a banner
reading:”Welcome to hell…Whoever comes to Rio de Janeiro will not be safe”.
Concerned over a security breakdown, the US has reportedly launched
a classified plan to protect US athletes with over 1,000 spies.
In an embarrassment to organizers,it emerged that
the Olympic security chief was attacked by a robber after the opening ceremony…
…and a man claiming,apparently falsely,to be a Russian diplomat
shot a carjacker dead on a busy street near the Olympic park.
