One of the first things you will notice

when you open up Illustrator CC 2018 for the first time
现在的初始工作区中多了“属性”面板
is that the essentials workspace now includes the Properties panel
这在Illustrator中是个全新的面板
and this is actually a brand new panel in Illustrator.
在之前的版本中没有的
We haven’t had this before,
它的作用跟
and it serves the same purpose
我们之前在这上面看到的
as the control or options bar
控制或选项栏一样
that we are used to seeing here on the top
会对任何被选中的对象做出反应
so it reacts to whatever is selected
它是基于文本的
it’s context-based
所以如果我选中一个对象
so if I select an object
我就会看到“外观选项”
I will see appearance options but also
和上面的“变换选项”
transform options here on the top and
如我之前所说 它的作用和控制栏一样
as I said it serves the same purpose as the Control bar,
也可以关上
which actually can be turned off and
通过“恢复默认” 就能在这个新版本里关闭了
by default it will be turned off in this new version.
所以如果你去到“窗口”菜单
So if you go to the Window menu
你就会找到“控制”选项
you will find the Control option there
这就是恢复默认设置后
and this is how by default
新的初始工作区的界面
the new Essentials workspace will look like.
如果你想再打开“控制”选项
If you want to open back the Control option
只要在“窗口”菜单里找到就好
just find it from the Window menu
还要注意的是 点开工作区选项
but also notice that from the workspace options
要是你想回到旧版的话
you actually will find the Essentials Classic workspace as well
你也能找到“初始经典工作区”
if you want to get back to that.
用经典版的会有更多面板
So there I will have more panels while
而用这个新的就更少点
in this one I will have a little less panels.
说实话 设计者将一堆有用信息
But to be honest, they did a really good job
压缩到一个面板上 这点做得很好
of compressing a lot of useful information into this one panel
当然 你还是需要这些面板
Of course you will still need panels
比如图层面板和库
like the layers panel and libraries but
但要是我非得选一个面板
if I need to choose one panel it would
那就是现在的属性面板了
probably be the Properties panel now
我会一直开着属性面板
that I will keep constantly open so when
当你没有选中任何对象时
there’s nothing selected
比如说 我们可以找到最有用的设置和首选项
for example we can find the most useful settings and preferences
比如键盘增量和变换控制
like keyboard increments and transformation controls,
对齐选项 标尺与网格
snapping, grids and guides,
我们甚至能在文档中快速找到单位选项
and we can even access quickly the units within the document.
如果我们已选中一个对象
If we have an object selected
面板上就出现了很有用的选项
then we have useful options
比如说那些能快速设置的效果
like the effects that we can very quickly assign,
这有填色和描边选项 甚至还有不透明度
we have the Fill and Stroke options even opacity here,
还有水平旋转和垂直旋转选项
we have flip horizontal and vertical options as well
如果我们需要更多选项的话
and if we need more options
只要点一下这三个小点
we can just click on these three dots here
或者下面的这三小点
or the other one just below
都会打开“外观”面板
which will actually open up the Appearance panel.
当然 这个面板提供的功能比
Of course this panel still gives us more control
“属性”面板里的那个版本要更多
than the version of it within the properties panel
但是“属性”面板 还是很有用的
but it’s still a convenient useful centralized area where
可以在这个集中区里找到很多有用的命令
we will find a lot of useful commands
比如“重新着色”和“位移路径”
like the Recolor artwork or Offset path
甚至是“对齐像素网格”
or even Aign to pixel grid.
如果你选中一组对象
like the alignment and Pathfinder
那么你会再次看到不同选项
then of course you will again get different options
比如“对齐选项”和“路径查找器”
like the alignment and Pathfinder options
你还能找到“存储为符号” “编组”
but you can also find the Save symbol, Group,
“取消编组”和“隔离组”选项
Ungroup and Isolate Group options.
所以可能要花点时间
So it might take some time
来熟悉这个新的属性面板
to get used to this new properties panel
但这绝对值得一试
but it’s definitely worth giving it a try
你会发现用了一阵子后
and you will notice that after a while
用起来就比控制栏
you will feel more comfortable using it
或者其他面板的组合
than the Control bar
要顺手多了
or a combination of the other panels.
而对于职业Illustrator使用者来说
While for professional Illustrator users
这个可能不够用了
this might not be enough
所以还需要其他面板
so you will still need other panels.
对于新手
For beginners and

people new to Illustrator this does
