大家好 我是麦克·陈 大家知道我钟爱刀剑
Hey guys it’s Mike Chen, you know I love swords,
I’ve done several videos on swords.
But a sword is just a sword
without a sword master to wield it, right?
So in this video We’re gonna talk about
one of the greatest sword masters in this world to date.
Isao Machii who currently holds several Guinness World Records,
you won’t believe all he can do.
Machii is a master of laido, a traditional sword martial art,
and he’s been sharpening his skills with the blade since he was only 5 years old,
born on August 20th 1973.
Isao Machii started learning martial art,
specializing in archery and swordsmanship at a very tender age.
And although his legendary skills are almost supernatural,
it is greatly attributed to decades of discipline and hard work.
He says I see Guinness World Records as
a way of securing my legacy,a great way for me
to have my name go down in history around the world.
To date Isao has 6 World Records under his belt,
and I don’t really know who would wanna challenge this guy.
One of his most notable records were set in 2007
when he achieved a Guinness record of
fastest 1,000 martial art sword cuts.
In this challenge Isao managed to complete 1,000 cuts
in just 36 minutes and 4 seconds.
It’s not like you just cut anything and make a dent,
he had to cut a roll tatami mat
that has the same resistance and density of a human limb,
如果你没试过 那我替你试过了 以失败告终
and if you never done this before I’ve tried and failed.
Having a sharp sword alone is really not enough,
it also requires tremendous amounts of skill and technique
to really make a precise cut, and to make sure that
the vertical standing man do not topple over in the process.
The next record he sets was in 2008
where he managed to cut a free standing
strong mat roll seven times.
After that in 2015 he broke his own record
by cutting the mat eight times.
And just you know you have to be really skilled
and what is he even even cut that thing once,
because if your strength is off or your precision is off
and the mats gonna fall over, and using too little force
would only jam the sword on the side of the mat or again knock it over.
So a delicate balance needs to be struck,
and Isao has managed to find it in a stunning display of his ability.
And Isao this not only exhibit his skills with a regular blade,
in 2011 he earned a Guinness title
for the most sword cuts to straw mats in 3 minutes,
his record was 252 sword cuts using a uchi katana
were a reverse edge sword,
and this is a part that I’m sort of convinced this guy’s super sane
because not only does Isao show feats of strength and Control with his sword,
but he also displayed speed, that well, check this out,
Isao was able to slice a tennis ball
traveling at around 500 kilometres an hour
or around 310 miles per hour in half without breaking a sweat.
Isao appeared in a documentary,
featuring people with supposed superhuman skills.
In the documentary, he displayed what seems to be the pinnacle of his abilities
where he managed to slice get this a BB gun pellet in half
as a travel tourism going around 350 km/h
or around 270 miles per hour,
no I couldn’t chop that thing in half
if somebody saw fall tossed it to me from 10 feet away.
And all this was caught on camera
在慢镜头下重播 看看他有多精准 迅速
and replayed slow motion to show just how quick precise Isao was.
The host of the Show Daniel Browning even said that
a normal person would take 3/10 of a second
just to register the sound of the gun being fired,
before they can even start think about reacting by the time they
move the sword into position, the pellet would have traveled way past him.
Psychologist Dr Ramani Durvasula, who was present during the feat also said,
this is about processing it at an entirely different sensory level,
because he is not visually processing it.
This is a different level of anticipatory processing
something so procedural something so fluid for him.
Now the question is how did he do it?
was his eye size superhuman as well, was he
using a different kind of senses, is he Spiderman?I mean
我意思是 有很多的问题 但很不幸
there’re so many questions, but unfortunately for us really only
Isao Machii He knows the answer. I just want to say
I would love to be this guy soon but I feel like it’s a little too late for me.
I didn’t want to be a ninja when I grew up,
but that dream was really never realized.
Now really the only ninja skill I have is sort of walking quietly,
which is I know really really really sad.
Anyway guys, Thank you all so much for watching this video.
See you later.
