嘿 朋友们 这里是后院科学家
Hey guys backyard scientist here
现在正疯狂流行扔水瓶这个玩法
There are some new water bottle flipping craze going on right now
我实在是不理解
I just don’t really understand it
可能是我太老了
Maybe I’m getting too old
也可能是因为我很擅长这个
or maybe I am already good at it.
这个的原理相当简单
The concept is just pretty simple
你只需要在瓶子中注入三分之一的水
you just fill up a water bottle about a third of the way and then

the goal is to flip it

The water bottle weighs 252 grams

so we will weigh out an equal amount of mercury

Mercury is 14 times as dense as water which means that the same weight will take up a lot less space

I even feel like the mercury filled bottle is more stable than the water filled bottle

I mean look at this I hit it right on the corner and it still manage to erect itself and stuck the landing

so I think to hit a perfect bottle flip is to rotate the bottle around its center of gravity

which is about the level of the liquid in the bottle

this will cause the liquid to come back around and hit the other side of the bottle

stopping the rotation of the bottle and it will fall straight down

but in a bottle that has been flipped half of the liquid is still in free fall

the liquid coming back down cancels out the forces

to see if the bottle flipping really was easier
这是我妹妹 她说她之前从未做过翻转瓶子
This is my sister and she said she never done bottle flipping before
她成功的概率大约是25%
She got about 25% accuracy on those tries
我呢 稍微好点
Me, I got a little bit better
用水银瓶60%的成功概率
I get 60% accuracy with Mercury
装水的话30%
and 30% with water
好的 我认为结果出来了翻转瓶子更容易的是
