怎样介绍你自己

How to Introduce Yourself -- American English Pronunciation

在本期美式英语发音视频中
In this American English pronunciation video
你将和我一起进入YouTube洛杉矶分部
you’re going to come with me to the YouTube space in LA
学习作为一个陌生的面孔
where I don’t know anyone.
应该如何去做自我介绍
And we’re going to go over introducing yourself.
将自己介绍给一群人
Introducing yourself to a crowd of people,
或甚至只是一个人
or even just one person,
都能让人感到紧张
can make anyone nervous.
特别是用外语来做介绍 更是如此
Doing it in a foreign language, even more so.
今天我们就来学习一些自我介绍常用语
So today we’re going to go over a few phrases that you might say when introducing yourself.
首先当然就是 介绍自己的名字
The first thing of course is saying yourname.
通常你会听到人们说“我是”
Usually you’ll hear people say”I’m”,
或者“我的名字叫”
or “My name is”,
或者“我名叫”
or “My name’s”,
把“名字”和“叫做”缩略后连读
contracting “name” and “is”.
有一些非母语者不想用这种连读
Some non-native speakers don’t want to use contractions,
他们认为这样表达不够清楚
because they don’t think it’s clear enough,
但我们确实需要连读成“我是”
but we really do want to use the contraction “I’m”,
而不是“我叫做”
and not”I am”,
因为这样更快 我是 我是 我是
because it can be much quicker, I’m,I’m, I’m,
这样能把重点放在名字
which puts the emphasis on the name,
这个最重要的部分上
the most important part.
这也能让你的口语更加流畅
This will also help smooth out your speech.
我是Rachel (一声)”额”
I’m Rachel, uhhh.
就全都连起来了
All connected.
以下是一些用“我是”来介绍自己的人
Here are some people introducing themselves using”I’m”.
嗨 我是Beth Aweau
Hi. I’m Beth Aweau.
嘿 伙计们 我是Olga Kay
Hey guys. I’m Olga Kay.
我是Staci Perry
I’m Staci Perry.
嘿 伙计们 我是Todd Bieber
Um, hey guys. I’m Todd Bieber.
嗨 大家好 我是Veronica Hill
Hi everyone. I’m Veronica Hill.
– 嘿 我是Rachel- 嗨 我是Hilah
– Hey, I’m Rachel.- Hi, I’m Hilah.
-嗨 我是Rachel -嗨 我是Christopher
– Hi, I’m Rachel.- Hi, I’m Christopher.
– 我是Bryan
– I’m Bryan.
这儿有一个例子 说的是“我的名字叫做”
Here’s an example of someone saying “my name is,”
没有把”名字”和”叫做”连读
without contracting “name” and “is”.
嗨 大家好 我名字叫做Hetal Jannu
Hi everyone. My name is Hetal Jannu.
注意这个句子强调的依然是她的名字 这个最重要的部分
Notice that the stress of the sentence is still making her name the most important part.
我的名字叫做Hetal
My name is Hetal.
我的名字叫做Rachel
My name is Rachel.
(名字的)重读音节会更长 响亮 而音调也比非重读部分要高
It’s longer, louder, and higher in pitch than the unstressed syllables.
我的名字叫做Rachel “Ra-瑞”(重读)
My name is Rachel, Ra-,
我的名字叫做Rachel
My name is Rachel.
这样我们就知道它是最重要的部分
That’s how we know it’s the most important part.
所以在“我的名字叫做”这一短句里
So in the phrase”my name is”,
“我的”和“叫做”都不重读
“my” and”is” are both unstressed.
所以它们需要弱化 非常快速带过
And so they need to be really unimportant, really quick,
我的 我的 我的
my [3x],
叫做 叫做 叫做
is [3x].
我的名字叫做
My name is, my name is.
如果每个音节都一样长
If every syllable is the same length,
音量相同 音调一致
the same volume, the same pitch,
那么我们就没能掌握美式英语中
then we loose the character of American English,
建立在重读与非重读音节基础上的特性
which is based on stressed vs. unstressed syllables.
我们也可以用连读这样说“我名叫Rachel”
We can also say “My name’s Rachel”, with the contraction.
这句的节奏是滴 哒 哒 嗒
The rhythm there is da-DA-DA-da.
“名字”是一个名词 所以要重读
“Name” is stressed because it’s a noun.
但是我真正的名字 Rachel 会更强调重读
But my actual name, Rachel, will be more stressed.
而需要注意的是 只有重读音节
And I should say, it’s only the stressed syllable, Ra-,
我名字中的”Ra-“会用更高音拖长
of my name that’s going to be longer and higher in pitch.
不需重读的音节 “-chel”
The unstressed syllable, -chel,
就像其他弱读音节一样处理
is just like any other unstressed syllable,
即使它包含在一个重读的词里
even though it’s in a stressed word.
我名叫Aaron
– My name’s Aaron.
啊 你好啊 哥们 我名叫Todd
– Uh, what’s up guys.My name’s Todd.
你好 我名叫Sara
– Hi, my name’s Sara.
通常在名字以后介绍的是你从哪儿来
Often what comes next in an introduction is saying where you’re from.
你可以说你的工作
This can either be a job,
如果是在工作场合
if you’re in a work context.
或者说你的家乡 或现在的住址
or a place, your hometown or where you’re currently living,
“来自”
“From”.
这个词不会比你来自的地方名更重要
That’s never going to be as important as the name of the place you’re from.
这是一个功能词
It’s a function word,
所以我们希望它在句中弱读
so we want it to be unstressed,
比重读音节短
shorter than the stressedvsyllables in the sentence.
“来自”[短促地读]
From
听听这些人介绍他们来自哪里
Listen to these people introducing the places they’re from.
他们使用缩写连读 “我是”和“来自” 然后加名字或地名
They’re using the contraction”I’m”and”from” and then the name.
这两个词说得更快并且弱化了
These two words are quicker and less important.
我来自 我来自 我来自
I’m from [3x].
我来自弗罗里达
I’m from Florida.
我来自纽约
I’m from New York.
我来自夏威夷的Kapolei
– I’m from Kapolei, Hawaii.
……祖籍西雅图
– ….from Seattle originally.
– 我来自纽约 你是德克萨斯的吗?
– I’m from New York.You’re from Texas?
– 你是 哪里人 再说一次
– You’re from, where, again?
– 我来自德拉华州
– I’m from Delaware.
最后举一个例子 有人说“我来自”
Here’s one last example of someone saying “I’m from”.
但他说的是自己的工作
But he’s giving his business,
自己工作的公司 而不是一座城市
the company he works for, not a city.
我来自正直公民旅团的UCB喜剧频道
– Uhhh, I’m from Upright Citizens’ Brigade, uhh, channel UCB comedy.
当Todd 介绍他自己时 我注意到
One fun moment I noticed is when Todd introduced himself,
Bryan说“你好Todd”
and Bryan said “Ts’up Todd?”
你好 你好
Tsup,tsup.
– 很高兴认识你- 你好 Todd
– So…nice to meet you. – Tsup, Todd?
你好 Todd
Tsup, Todd?
你好
Tsup.
是什么词呢?
What is that word?
实际上就是“怎么了?”
That’s actually “what’s up?”
前些日子我做了一期关于“怎么了”的视频
I made a video a while ago on “tsup”.
关于我们有时会把“是什么” “它是” “那是” 或者“让我们” 简化成“怎么”
how we’ll sometimes reduce “what’s” , “it’s”,”that’s”, or”let’s” to simply”ts”.
怎么了?
Tsup?
我知道你可能没听到P
Now I know you’re probably not hearing the P.
但是你可能注意到了我的嘴巴变成了这个形状
But maybe you do notice my lips are going into the position for it.
怎么
Tsup.
P是一个塞音
P is a stop consonant.
它由两部分组成
That means it’s made up of two parts.
停止音 嘴唇闭合
The stop, where the lips come together,
怎么
Tsup.
释放音 嘴唇分开
and the release, where the lips part.
怎么
Tsup.
[ p ]
[p]
母语者有时不会把音释放出来
Sometimes native speakers leave out the release
怎么
Tsup?
停止
Stop.

Nope.
你也可以
You can too.
只要确保你不省去辅音的停止音部分
Just make sure you don’t leave out the stop part of the consonant,
嘴巴闭合 气流也停了
where the lips come together and the air is stopped.
怎么
Tsup.
最后 还有一个介绍常用短句是“很高兴认识你”
And finally, a phrase we often exchange when making an introduction is”nice to meet you”.
– 很高兴认识你- 我也是
– Nice to meet you.- Nice to meet you, too.
– 认识你真好,Hilah- 我也觉得
– Well, it was good to meet you, Hilah.- Nice to meet you, too.
– 很高兴认识你- 很高兴认识你
– Nice to meet you.- Nice to meet you
大部分人说“很高兴认识你”
Most people say’nice to meet you’,
可能你注意到我说过“很开心认识你”
and probably you noticed that once I said”it’s good to meet you”.
“好” “好的” 或者无论你用哪个形容词
“Nice”, or “good”, or whateveradjective you’re using,
加上“遇见”应该是这个句子中的两个重读音节
and “meet” should be the two stressed syllables of that sentence.
这会让”to 到”略读
That will contrast nicely with”to”,
会用一个非重读音节代替元音BOO中的OO
which will have a schwa instead of the OO as in BOO vowel,
到 到 到
to, to, to.
“你”因为它在句末 可能声音类似
“You”, since it’s at the end of a sentence, will probably soundsomething like
你 你 你
you, you, you.
低 快 平
Low in pitch,quick, flat,
让声音听起来有些无力
and with a lot of the energy of the voice taken out.
你 你
You, you,
很高兴认识你
nice to meet you.
我们在“遇见”一词中听到了两种不同的发音方式
We heard two different ways of pronouncing the T in”meet”.
一个是停止音T
One is a stop T,
因为下一个词是辅音开始
because the next word begins with a consonant sound.
认识你
Meet you,
认识你
Meet you.
我切断了喉咙里的气流来阻止声音 以表示T.
I cut off the airflow in my throat to stop the sound,to signify the T.
实际上我的舌头并不准备发T音
I don’t actually bring my tongue into position for the T,
而是把气流阻断在这里
I just stop the air here.
遇见
Meet,

you.
发T音的另一个方法是发成CH音
The other way of making the T is to make it a CH sound.
如果下一个单词是“你” 结尾T就可以这样发音 遇到你
This can happen to an ending T if the next word is”you”, meet you,
遇到你
Meet you.
那让我们再听一遍 先是停止音的读法
So first, let’s hear it again with the stop.
很高兴认识你[4遍]
– Nice to meet you. [4x]
现在是CH音
And now with the CH sound.
很高兴认识你[4遍]
– Nice to meet you. [4x]
遇到你 遇到你
Meet you, meet you.
两个都可以
Both are ok.
最后 再给大家看一段自我介绍对话
In closing, here is one more introduction conversation,
我与洛杉矶遇到的棒小伙Zachary的对话
I had with a great guy I met in LA named Zachary.
– 嗨- 噢 嘿
