Today, I will be showing with you
how to create this flower embellished ponytail,
as well as how I curl my hair to prep for this type of style.

Wand curls are the best for this type of look.
所以 为了发型效果 我会用到
So, to achieve them, I’m going to use
the Pro Beauty Professional X-Long 1” Gold Curling Wand.
Curling the hair with this wand will help shape the style
and make it look more done up at the end.
So to start, comb through the hair to remove any tangles,
and then curl the hair down the middle.
Then just divide the hair at the top of the ears and clip up the top section.
Next, going to separate off a small 1” section of hair
and place the barrel behind the section,
wrapping the hair away from the face around the barrel
and working down towards the ends.
Hold the section for 5-8 seconds,
and then release it and let it cool.
Now, pick up a new section of hair and repeat the same steps,
wrapping the hair around the barrel away from the face.
Holding there for 5-8 seconds,
or until it feels warm to the touch before releasing it.
When all of the hair from these bottom layers is curled,
then let down the top section and divide out a new layer of hair.
Now, just go ahead and repeat the previous steps,
curling all of the hair by wrapping it around the wand,
making sure to curl each section away from the face
and working in small 1″ sections until all of the hair is curled.
If you have longer hair like I do,
then this is definitely the wand for you,
because it’s actually 2” longer than traditional wands.
So, it’s super easy to curl all of the hair
from root to tip without any overlapping.
My favorite thing about it though, is the gold plated barrel
which provides a direct heat for a 24 hour curl lock.
So your curls will actually hold better from morning until night.
And I think that’s a definite must help for every girl
who wants to get professional results at home.
These curls are definitely my new favorite,
because they are done up after you’ve put together,
but still casual enough for wearing every single day.
Moving onto the hair style.
Start by parting the hair where you normally prefer.
I’m putting mine on the left side.
Then divide off a small section of hair near the nape of the neck
on both the left and the right side.
We are going to bring these two sections together over the rest of
the hair and tie them up with an elastic band.
Then divide off a small section of hair, including this wrapped piece,
and we’re going to braid the section into a regular three strand braid.
So divide the section into three pieces,
and cross the side strands over the middle,
alternating between the left side and the right side.
And then once the braid reaches the bottom,
don’t tie it up just yet.
Instead we’re going to wrap it into a spiral,
clockwise, over the elastic band.
Make sure to lay the braid flat.
This will help the flower show up a little bit better.
But then, just go ahead and tuck the ends underneath the braid,
grab some bobby pins and slide them into the base of the spiral.
I weaved my bobby pins through the braid
as I slide it in to help grip the hair from the braid,
while also hiding it underneath.
But just pin all the way around the spiral until it feels nice and tight.
Now we’re going to gently pull on the very outer edge
of the spiral to create the flower.
And you can make this as big or as small as you prefer,
but that is the very last step.
Now you’ve got a super cute way to embellish your traditional ponytail.
I love this look because I think it’s really quick and easy to do,
and really love how soft and feminine it is.
So I do hope you enjoy the tutorial.
