Five Tips for Overcoming Phone Anxiety

在电话里交谈有时候挺吓人的
Talking on the phone can sometimes be intimidating.

Maybe you don’t like talking to strangers

or you worry that you say the wrong thing.

Here are 5 tips that may be able to help you overcome your phone anxiety.
第一条 呼吸
No.1 Breathe.
这看上去挺简单的
This may seem pretty simple
但在接电话之前或交谈中做几下深呼吸
but taking a couple of deep breaths before or during your phone call
能帮你舒缓神经 摒除杂念
can help calm your nerves and clear your mind.
它也可以帮你慢下来
It can also help you to slow down
给你一些时间思考
and give you some time to think through things.

No.2 Practice.
打练习电话是一种增加自信的绝佳方式
Making practice calls is a great way to increase your confidence.
试着致电给本地商店 简单说一句:
Try calling a local business and simply saying:
“嗨 我想知道你们今天的营业时间?”
“Hi, I was wondering what your store hours are today?”
他们给你答案以后
Once they give you an answer,
先道谢 再挂断
thank them and then hang up.

Asking someone to repeat what they said

This way if you freeze up,

No.5 Keep calm.

If the person you’re speaking to is upset or uncooperative,

it’s important to keep calm

and try to calm them down as well.

Be sure to listen to them,

acknowledge how they feel

and try to approach the conversation from a practical and fact-based point of view.
