Hey there, so I had this nice idea for a slide.
And first we will use a photograph for it.
I will go to Unsplash.com
and I will search for a construction site this time
because I think such a photo
would look really nice on this slide.
This looks interesting.
Well, maybe let’s use it.
It really doesn’t matter which photo you use.
Just something or this one.
I’ll maybe compare both
but I want to make them black and white.
Okay, I have both photographs here.
Let me place them into PowerPoint
and I will try to create something out of it.
Okay, at first
thank you PowerPoint.
Ar first, I want to make sure
that it will cover the entire slide.
Okay, I need to place it a bit to the top side
because I would like to see those objects
and by hitting the crop tool
I’ll crop it to the upper side of this slide.
Now, I would like to achieve the effect
of the photo being black and white and luckily
PowerPoint has our corrections and color options
which we can select by floating around here.
So the first option makes the color saturation
to zero percent and I think
this would be cool for use.
Maybe it’s not interesting here
so something lighter should be selected.
I selected a fairly dark photo.
Look at that.
And I believe now I should select
a lighter photo.
Let us try for a second
with the second one.
If this looks any better,
I’ll go to the color,
make it black and white
and yeah, I think the second
is a tiny bit better.
So it’s always a bit of working around.
It depends on what do you need and
if you make mistakes like I do.
And if you wonder why do I sit so low,
I sprained my ankle yesterday
while playing football and I need to sit low
to keep my leg up.
A good thing is that I can work and record
tutorials for you and I will have an even more
time now because I probably will have to sit
at home for a few weeks,
so always something positive.
Getting back to work,
I don’t want to over complicate the slide.
I just wanted to underline with the black and white
the entire topic and style of the slide.
And the second thing I’ll do
I’ll go to Insert.
I’ll go to Shapes.
And I will make a rectangle shape.
I want to make the rectangle shape
on the bottom side.
And this will be like that content of this slide.
The entire information
and this will make the topic,
the background and the kind of style
in the back with the black and white effect.
Okay, I will take this shape
and I will do simple adjustments.
I would right click,
click Form and Shape.
Of course, in the Fill Options,
I would select a different color.
And I would like to use a gradient here.
Maybe like a yellowish, orangish gradient
going from left to right
and how to approach this.
Well, if you don’t know how to do it.
You can approach the preset gradient.
You see we have an orange gradient like that
and we can just try it out.
And from the type
I guess, linear will be okay.
The direction, I would like you to go from
left to right.
So as you can see by the colors,
left to right would be something like that.
And now, I would either need to
add additional colors to make it a bit more interesting
and I would like to add transparency.
So by clicking on each color,
you can click on the first color,
you can select a transparency.
The second color.
I want something different.
I don’t like this orange at all.
So more colors and I wanted to,
go for a really bright yellow.
Let’s do it.
And we will see how it will work
with the orange together.
So I have the yellow clicked
and I can also set its transparency.
And maybe let’s make it like that
because I want more of this yellow.
I think the yellow is cool.
Let me select again the yellow
on the third column and more colors
and different kind of yellow.
(slow instrumental music)
Or a red one.
Let’s just experiment.
You can always pick the red one.
Click the color, work with its transparency
and yeah, I think we are achieving
a really peachy effect.
Okay, maybe the first one color doesn’t sit as well
but still, I think it has a very nice coloristic.
So, I can click on that.
Of course, shape outline,
no outline because we saw a blue line,
a little blue line around here.
As I press Control Z,
do you see it?
I don’t like this line at all.
So format, Shape Outline,
Well, this will be my entire base for this slice.
So I use one image
and one object and now I could additionally
add some text boxes.
Like editing the text and depending on what
do we need?
We need business, construction,
performance, or anything you would like to write here.
Like here, then I will place the second line
and write some text here.
And here I will definitely put an icon
or at least, shape to make it a bit interesting.
Maybe a star, why not?
Okay, I made it perfectly.
So I would use the Star.
Boom, I go on the left side.
No outline. White,
just to add something and if you don’t like it,
Form and Shape, use the gradient
and it will inherit the last gradient you were editing.
So I can use this gradient.
I can change its transparencies
to make everything a bit more interesting.
Like this, okay.
A little star would be here.
And it will re-enforce the text a little bit.
This would be my title slide like this.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the tutorial.
Thank you very much for listening
and see you in the next ones.
